Varsity Registration

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

  • September 6, 2019

 

Welcome back to B-CC Crew!

The mandatory fall registration meeting for all varsity athletes and families will take place Thursday, September 5 from 7:45 to 8:45 pm (B-CC Cafeteria)  

The fall season runs from September to November, 2019.

Before you register, please read this Student and Guardian Participation Agreement, Consent and Waiver of Liability.

To register for the fall season:

1. Complete the Online Registration Process.

 

Click here, expand the section for "Teams & Groups", click “join” for the appropriate squad (Varsity Boys or Girls) and follow instructions to register. You will be asked to provide a credit card number or PayPal for the fall payment $900 to complete registration. 

 

Please note there is a $35 late fee for any registration received after September 6. We will not be accepting checks this season. 

2. Download and complete the Varsity Fall Packet.  

 

Make sure you have all necessary forms completed to submit together to Elizabeth Wilcox, B-CC Crew Administrator, via email at administrator@bcccrew.org or at the fall registration meeting.  

Incomplete registrations will not be accepted.

Need-based financial assistance is available:

Download the Financial Assistance Form prior to completing your online registration, and send to Lucy Pope at president@bcccrew.org.

Athletes must complete all steps above before they can begin practices. There will be no exceptions, and athletes will be benched by coaches if their registrations are not complete. If you cannot attend the registration meeting, please deliver all your materials in one packet to Elizabeth Wilcox.

Novice Registration

REGISTRATION DEADLINES:

  • October 11 for Session II (10/14 – 11/1)

General information for Novices can be found here.

If you are interested in rowing, be sure to get a swimming test and doctor’s appointment for your medical clearance ASAP (forms in the Novice Packet below). Swim tests can be completed at any pool of your choice, or see bottom of page for local pool options.

All forms must be handed in by October 11 for Session II.

All parents and athletes should also sign up to our listserve by sending an email to: BCCRowing-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Sessions are co-ed, capped at 35 athletes per session, and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If there is space available, Session I athletes will have the option to register for Session II.

To register, complete these 3 steps:

1. Complete the Online Registration Process. 

 

Click here, expand the "Teams & Groups" section, click "join" for the appropriate session (Novice Session I or Novice Session II), then follow the instructions. Note that the account holder will be the PARENT who completes the process.

 

You will be prompted to provide information about the Participant (Student Athlete) and additional parents/alternative emergency contacts, and provide a credit card number for the fall payment of $450 (for Session I) or $400 (for Session II).

 

Please note there is a $35 late fee for any registration received after September 13 (for Session I) and October 11 (for Session II).

2. Join USRowing and complete the online US Rowing waiver.

 

B-CC Crew is a nationally ranked scholastic program and member organization of USRowing. All novice and varsity team members are also required to be individual members of USRowing at the Championship level and e-sign a liability waiver in order to compete in our program. Please go http://www.usrowing.org/individual-membership/ and join the "Championship membership" category for a $45 annual fee. Click on Join & Renew at the top navigation, then click on Join & Renew again under the Championship option. Click Join in the Individuals category and then enter your athlete's name, birthdate, etc. Type B-CC to pull up our program and click to be sure your membership is linked. Please save the email confirmation you receive and make a note of your child's USRowing membership number for future renewals and waivers.

3. Download and complete the Novice Fall Packet.

Swim Tests:  

Lifeguards at the Bethesda Outdoor Public Pool (at Little Falls Parkway and Hillandale Road) do swim tests. They ask that you call in advance: 301-652-1598, to confirm. Lifeguards at any neighborhood pool and the Bethesda YMCA can also do the tests.
